"If a picture paints a thousand words, then why can't I paint you?"... That was the question Bread asked in the seventies. The answer turned out to be Gene Simmons spitting blood in David Gates' face which all but destroyed light rock as we know it.
Yes, you're right, but while we guitar players played the rock for our friends, if you wanted to strum a tune to melt a girl's heart, there was no better choice than "I Wanna Make It With You." haha
Remember America's "Sister Goldenhair"? I used to puzzle over that song for what seemed like an unatural amount of time. I was an angst ridden adolescent. Goopy light rock was my crack.
signed, Monkey's human... guess I should get my own blog, so I can have my own identity.
Bread actually had a few rocking songs, but none of them were popular like the schmaltzy ones written by David Gates. I am sad to admit I actually liked Sister Goldenhair, although now I can't even bear to hear it - its sappy lite rock drives me insane.
