Jimmy McNichol and Lorenzo Lamas = failure

Hey, remember that show California Fever? Me neither, even though I'm pretty sure I watched it. It starred Lorenzo Lamas as a health food store owner (!?) and Jimmy McNichol (Kristy's brother) as a guy who had a band. It was only on from September to December 1979. The show did have a great theme song though - one of those catchy bubblegum tunes along the lines of Richie Brokelman, Private Eye...which no one probably remembers either.

Thanks for reminding me of this show, as I couldn't remember if I had dreamt it or if it really aired. Now I have proof. I won't hold my breath for a DVD release, though I would love to hear the theme song!

"Schooooooool's out..."

I remember that Mike Post song from RICHIE BROCKELMAN. It even appeared on an LP of Post themes that also included THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO and MAGNUM, P.I. I wish I still had it.

Yes!! Someone who not only remembers Richie Brockelman, but knows the opening words to the theme song! In the 1990s, I actually found a copy of the theme at a record sale on a promo 45.

Yikes! Somehow, I had this exact same TV Guide cutout saved for quite some time. Not sure why; it was a fun show, but not quite as compelling as "Emergency!"

I think I did finally toss it, though. I'm glad you kept yours.
