I Have a Sweater With Your Name on It

When I was three I must have written a letter to Mr. Rogers, because I have this picture of him that is postmarked from January 1968. Since I was only three years old, my parents must have written the letter for me. I'm sure it was scintillating. Now if only I still had my autographed picture of Sesame Street's Mr. Hooper - which was actually quite a disappointment at the time since I had written the fan letter to Bob.

I thought Bob wrote you back and said he couldn't stay over....was that some sort of fantasy on my part?

Yeah he did, but along with his letter (which has also disappeared) I got an autographed photo....of Mr. Hooper!?! Never was a small child so heartbroken by receiving a photo of an old man in a grocer's outfit.

Is it just me, or do Bob and Fred resemble each other just a little bit?

I loved Mr. Rogers. I truly did. His sweater and sneakers routine was so damn comforting. I need comfort now Dammit!
